Smart Arthritis Diagnosis System that will allow the doctor and his patients to conveniently, easily, and quickly diagnose Rheumatoid Arthritis followed with monitoring the progress of the disease.
For a person in Uganda to be diagnosed with arthritis, they are required to go to the only rheumatology clinic in the country at Mulago Referal hospital in Kiruddu of which this clinic is open only once a week on Fridays. The clinic currently has only a single doctor who gets overwhelmed by the number of patients. Very little is known about this disease by health practitioners and patients alike causing the society and those affected to struggle blindly with some even associating it to witchcraft. Patients who are unable to access the clinic will most likely not have the condition diagnosed early enough. This will leads to Anthritris progression and this proves fatal in some cases.
The currently existing system for diagnosis of this disease involves people having to physically turn up to the clinic which is tedious and costly for some such as those who hail from upcountry.
In this innovation, we undertake to develop a system for early diagnosis of arthritis using artificial intelligence techniques.
